Picnic & Paddle - July 29 - 6:00 pm
Meet at the Ferintosh Campground, bring a potluck picnic lunch, and enjoy the lake together. Rides are available for those without canoes or kayaks.
Hosted by the Friends of Little Beaver Lake Society. See the poster for more info, or call 780-877-2641.
Paving MacQuarrie Ave - 1st week of August
As the final step in the watermain replacement project, Border Paving is now scheduled to pave MacQuarrie Avenue during the first week of August.
Roads Recycled
Gravel roads and alleys throughout Ferintosh were recently resurfaced, but this time there's a twist - the road was recycled.
Maintenance of gravel roads usually involves the addition of many tons of new gravel. But local contractor Battle River Rock & Gravel has a better idea. The new process uses a rotary device to loosen and redistribute the existing gravel, minimizing the amount of additional material needed.
Not only does this reduce our consumption of this non-renewable resource, it also saves the Village a lot of money. The process costs less than half of what traditional resurfacing would cost.
Ferintosh Horticulture Show - August 18th
The 50th Annual Ferintosh Horticulture Show will take place Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 at the Little Beaver Hi-U Centre. Bring your entries from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Judging begins at 11:00 am, accredited judges supplied by the Alberta Horticultural Association.
Doors open to the public at 2:00 pm, and exhibits will be on display until 4:00 pm. Lunch will be served.
Chances at door prizes and draws, cash prizes in all classes, prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in show, and special prizes. More information and entry forms are available at the General Store and the Village Office.

Friends of Little Beaver Lake Launch New Dock
Let’s have a huge ‘Thank You!’ for The Friends of Little Beaver Lake Society. Earlier this year they unveiled a large interpretative sign in the campground about the birds that live on and around the lake.
Now they have installed a canoe dock by the water plant. The dock will make it much easier for people with kayaks, canoes and other small craft to access the lake. No powerboats, please, the dock is not designed for them. Parking is available beside the water plant.
Take Notice
Meanwhile, the Ferintosh Community Club has installed a new community notice board on the outside of the Village Office. All local non-profit groups are welcome to post information on their organizations and upcoming events, and the Village Office will use it as well. Thanks!
