- Council News:
- The next council meeting is set for Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm.
- All property taxes were due by December 31, 2011. Taxes remaining unpaid at year end were subject to a 10% penalty.
- The new Dog Control Bylaw came into effect January 1, 2012 requiring owners to purchase new dog licenses by December 31, 2011. If you haven’t picked up a license, you may be visited by a bylaw officer soon. Not a great way to start the new year!
- A Business License Bylaw is now in place as of January 1, 2012. Any new business must apply to the Village for an annual business license at a cost of $25.00.
- This is a time of year when small plumbing problems can present themselves. Your sewage system is designed to work for all domestic waste but not for foreign (even if they claim to be bio-degradable) products. These products can sit in the pipes forever before they break down. Grease is another product that should not be flushed down the toilet or sink.
- The new year is now upon us and the days are getting longer. Best wishes for everyone in the year to come. Take extra time to send good thoughts to those folks who experienced recent illness or injury.

- Friends of Little Beaver Lake - meetings at 7:30 pm on last Thursday of each month.
- Community Club - meetings at 7:30 pm on 3rd Tuesday of each month.
- Hi-U Centre - morning coffee weekdays at 7:45 am; floor curling Monday thru Friday at 2:00 pm; and pot luck suppers are at 6:00 pm on the third Saturday of each month. The monthly Pancake Breakfast is served on the first Wednesday of each month from 8:30 am to 10:00 am.

- The ATB Branch: The hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, closed 12:00 to 1:00 pm; Thursday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm; and Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, closed 12:00 to 1:00 pm. The telephone number is 780-877-2271.
- The Ferintosh Hotel Café is open for lunch 11:00 am to 1:30 pm daily. The Ferintosh Hotel opens daily at 2:00 pm and serves daily specials and bar food during bar hours.
- The Ferintosh Manor Bed and Breakfast is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their website is www.bbcanada.com/ferinbb.
